Her reaction is believable if you have ever met someone really stupid. The 19 year old girlfriend of the ex-husband Yes her reaction is strange, Reddit is a quite smart community, but some people are just fucking stupid. After all, Chris Brown almost killed Rihanna and she took him back. Just because some of you people can't believe that this could be the norm for others, does not make it unbelievable. The scene were here ex-husband chokes her and is stopped by the son with the knife. I am sure alot of women would be attracted to such. Second of all, he is a goddamn Chief of Police, he has huge status withing the community. First of all Harrelson's Wife in True Detective is equally goodlooking and no one complains about that. Willoughby's Wife I saw alot of people mentioning that they thought she was too goodlooking for him. This only does not work if you go into it with the Mindset of Dixon being dumb, the later reveal of him being quite smart leaves that quote as less unfitting. One thing to note is the overly comedic scene of him stating that black people should be called "people of colour" during the interrogation scene.
That can be an explanation for his change. After Willoughby's Death he is finally on his own.
THREE BILLBOARDS OUTSIDE EBBING MISSOURI HBO MOVIE
We are shown several times during the movie that if he doesn't have success with the methods available, he will beat people up, mainly the guy selling billboards who is white by the way. His grief is also present in his drinking problem. He wants to put the blame for his father's death onto somebody. But consider that he was brought up in a racist enviroment, for what we can assume the whole town is racist. One thing that I know reddit likes to do is call everyone that is racist a stupid person unable of change. It is even said throughout the film to be just a rumor. He is said to be racist although it should be noted that there is apparantly no proof of him torturing black people. The man had lost his father recently and also was a huge momma's boy. How that can ruin the film for anyone is beyond me.ĭixon's change Now I think it came suddenly, yes, but there is a good explanation behind this in my opinion. The Deer Scene I found out that deer was not even CGI'd but I got to agree that it did not look convincing.
I am not a native speaker so forgive me If I sound like I am not making any sense sometimes. So in this post I want to try to give my opinions and explanations for certain parts that I have seen as being heavily critiqued. So when I came to Reddit after watching it I was suprised by the huge amount of hate it got, especially in context to critics loving it. Let me start by saying that I really loved the Movie.
